Systems Engineer @ University of Liverpool

Project Involvement - University of Liverpool

  • Hands-on involvement with the procurement of our new certificate authority. I was primarily responsible for ensuring all of our current SSL certificate estate was migrated properly to ensure minimal service disruption. My tasks involved gathering data and reports on our current SSL usage, their expiration dates and ensuring they would be renewed on time with our new CA. I was primary contact for ensuring all of our certificates are replaced in a timely manner. A bigger project to automatically renew our certificates will come in the next year or two..
  • PaperCut migration project. We recently replaced our old printing management software (Equitrac) with a more modern product: PaperCut. I was primarily responsible for: Customer Service, Handling Complaints, User Account Management, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Line support, Privileged Access Management for remote engineers, creating new knowledge articles for users, training service desk staff, minimising downtime & disruption, etc.. This project also carried through our busiest time of the year, Confirmation & Clearing. I am also the Secondary Service Owner for ALL of University printing.

Project Involvement - St Helen's College

  • Hands-on technician. One of 5 technicians ensuring our IT estate was compliant with Cyber Essentials requirements, including following audits and patching where necessary. This was our first time achieveing the certification.
